On June 27, 2025, the “Swiss Design Classics Curated Private Viewing– CECC & LF Special Guided Tour” co-hosted by the Chinese-European Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and the LONG Foundation (LF), was successfully held at Fosun Art Center on Shanghai's Huangpu Riverside.
The event integrated curated exhibition tours, cultural performances, and high-level networking, delivering an immersive experience that harmonized Sino-Swiss aesthetics, design philosophies, and cultural values.
A Swiss Design Journey: The Intersection of Rationality and Beauty
The event specially invited dozens of distinguished guests from Chinese and Swiss cultural, design, and business circles, significantly enriching the multicultural exchange atmosphere. Under the guidance of the curatorial team, attendees gained in-depth understanding of Swiss design evolution and iconic works, experiencing how everyday practicality harmonizes with innovative aesthetics to create designs that balance beauty and functionality.

Eastern Philosophy Meets Western Order
The event also featured a performance of Eastern traditional culture, presented by the “You Taiji” team, founded by Master Chen Jia—a 7th Duan in Chinese martial arts and the 20th-generation (12th in lineage) inheritor of Chen-style Taiji, a recognized National Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. The performance was serene and composed, embodying the philosophical concept of the unity of stillness and motion deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. This resonated with the core values of Swiss design—quality, simplicity, and timeless elegance—creating a meaningful cross-cultural dialogue.

As a powerful symbol of Chinese traditional culture, Taiji is not only a martial art but also a profound life philosophy that emphasizes the balance of mind and body and harmony with nature. It is increasingly becoming a unique window through which the world engages with Eastern aesthetics and philosophy.
Cross-Disciplinary Dialogue and Shared Perspectives
Following the tour, guests freely mingled at the art center, engaging in lively discussions around design values, cultural integration, and collaboration opportunities. The atmosphere was open and intellectually stimulating, with many business representatives taking the chance to exchange resources and explore potential partnerships.
The event culminated in a lucky draw segment supported by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai. Guests were delighted to receive carefully selected Victorinox Swiss Army knives—symbolizing Swiss design’s practical elegance and offering a memorable interactive experience.
CECC remains committed to building multi-layered and multi-dimensional collaborations between China and Switzerland. By leveraging cultural, commercial, and creative exchanges, the Chamber continues to drive the implementation of bilateral initiatives and collaborative ecosystems.
As a service-oriented organization, CECC actively fosters opportunities for members through curatorial participation, brand partnerships, and interdisciplinary exchanges. This event once again demonstrated the collaborative potential made possible by the deep connection between culture and design.
Looking ahead, CECC will continue to use culture as a bridge to inspire more cross-sectoral co-creations between China and Switzerland, building a cooperative platform grounded in mutual trust, learning, and shared success.
