On 18 May 2026, Ms Zhujun XIE President of the Chinese-European Chamber of Commerce (CECC), together with Ms Audrey Yang, Secretary General of CECC, attended “Luxembourg meets Geneva”, a networking reception organised by Luxembourg for Finance at the Mandarin Oriental Geneva.

The invitation-only event brought together representatives from the Luxembourg and Swiss financial communities to exchange perspectives on the role of Luxembourg and Geneva as leading international financial centres. The programme opened with a welcome address by Mr Tom Théobald, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, followed by remarks from Mr Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, under the theme “Luxembourg and Geneva: Partners in Global Finance”. Mr Jan Bumann, Director of the Association of Swiss Private Banks, also delivered a keynote address on the common interests connecting Luxembourg and Geneva as financial centres.

CECC’s participation in the reception forms part of its continued efforts to strengthen engagement with the Luxembourg financial ecosystem and to support dialogue between European financial centres and China-related business communities. Positioned at the intersection of China-Europe business, investment and institutional cooperation, CECC values opportunities to connect with public authorities, financial institutions, professional associations and market participants across Luxembourg and Switzerland.

During the reception, CECC exchanged views with participants on potential areas of cooperation, including cross-border financial services, asset management, sustainable finance, private wealth and broader China-Europe business connectivity. The event also provided a valuable platform for CECC to further understand Luxembourg’s role as an international financial hub and to explore future collaboration opportunities with relevant stakeholders.

CECC will continue to leverage its platform to support practical exchanges between China and Europe, facilitate institutional dialogue, and promote high-quality cooperation among financial, investment and professional service communities.
