Running from 29 October to 4 November, Shanghai International ESG Week brings together representatives from government, international organisations, business, investment and academia. Its opening programme focused on people-centred cities, technological innovation, green development and international cooperation, with a keynote address by Nobel Laureate in Physics Professor Horst L. Störmer.
The Global CSO Club brings together more than 60 chief sustainability officers and senior executives from China, Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region. Drawing on connections in Shanghai and Hong Kong, it focuses on ESG capabilities, green manufacturing, sustainable urban renewal, new energy and sustainable computing, international green supply chains and green finance. The initiative is intended to support companies’ green transition and international development through professional exchange and collaboration.
For CECC, participation in the launch connects its China-Europe business network with a forum addressing the sustainability issues increasingly shaping international commerce. The Club’s focus on corporate ESG practices, supply chains and green finance is relevant to the companies and institutions that CECC brings together across markets.
