The Chinese European Chamber of Commerce (CECC), in partnership with the Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Authority and Deloitte Luxembourg, successfully held the 'Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Authority Promotion & International Networking Reception' on Thursday, 23 October 2025.

Held at The Gallery at Deloitte Luxembourg, the event brought together nearly 100 senior representatives from Chinese, Luxembourgish and European financial and business sectors for an evening of high-level dialogue and networking. Distinguished attendees included Wang Yuan, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg; Liang Qing, Deputy Director of the Lujiazui Financial City Authority; Chris Hollifield, Head of Business Development at Luxembourg for Finance; Pierre Schoonbroodt, Chief Financial Officer of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange; and John Psaila, CEO & Managing Partner of Deloitte Luxembourg, as well as leaders from Luxembourg's top financial institutions, associations and corporate partners.The private reception served as a dynamic platform to welcome a delegation from the Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Authority and to strengthen financial collaboration between China and Luxembourg, two pivotal hubs in the global financial system.
Mrs. Xie Zhujun, President of the CECC, underscored the Chamber's unwavering commitment to facilitating business exchanges and deepening mutual understanding between Chinese and European entities at the event.

The leadership of the Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Authority detailed the Authority's role in shaping Lujiazui into a world-class financial district, home to a dense concentration of domestic and international banks, securities firms, asset management companies, and insurance entities. The presentation underscored Lujiazui's strategic focus on key growth areas such as financial innovation, fintech, green finance, and asset management. The Authority reiterated its mission to support the international expansion of Lujiazui-based institutions by providing top-tier services, resources, and access to cross-border cooperation opportunities.
Following the formal presentations, the event transitioned into a vibrant cocktail reception. This extended networking session allowed guests to engage in fruitful discussions, explore potential partnerships, and build valuable connections in a relaxed and conducive environment.
This reception not only effectively showcased the dynamic development and future ambitions of Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City but also provided a direct channel for its financial institutions to explore international opportunities and solidify collaborative ties with key European partners in the heart of Luxembourg's financial community.
